Description

YAO Internship Summary: The intern will be largely responsible for the execution of a major national “Micro-Entrepreneur Challenge” campaign (as part of YAO’s nationwide kick-off). The “Challenge” will allow young leaders to get a taste of microentrepreneurship by applying for small loans in order to fundraise on Opportunity’s behalf. Although the internship is unpaid, it does include complimentary participation (including flight) in a five day “Insight Trip” to Cartagena, Colombia in August 2010. The intern’s responsibilities may include any or all of the following: marketing, online promotion, logistical planning, public relations, partnership-development, liaising with universities/colleges, and working with volunteer Canadian “loan officers.” All details regarding the YAO Organization can be found by clicking on the link to our website page below: http://www.opportunityinternational.ca/are-you-18-35.html Further Internship Details: Internship Timeline: Deadline to apply: December 24, 2009 at 2:00pm EST Interviews: Thurs Jan 7, 2009 (afternoon) or Friday Jan 8, 2009 (morning) Start Date: Monday January 11, 2010 End Date: Friday June 18, 2010 Trip to Colombia: 5 days in August 2010 This is a part-time unpaid internship according to the following break-down: January - February: 20-30 hours/week (Develop and implement major viral marketing campaign.) March: 15 hours/month (Coordinate selection process and mailings to successful applicants.) April – June 18: 10-15 hours/week (Answer call-in and electronic questions, encourage “loan officers,” feature stories, promote via social media, and coordinate final selection process.)

Requirements
