Mission Statement

Yolo County CASA is a non-profit organization that supports and promotes court-appointed volunteer advocacy for abused and neglected children so they can thrive in safe, permanent homes. We are dedicated to advancing the best interest of children.

Description

Yolo County CASA recruits, trains and supervises volunteers who are matched with individual children by order of the Yolo County Superior Court in a collaborative effort with the social workers of Child Protective Services and the various agencies of the court to develop a complete picture from various perspectives of what is going on and best for the child. These children have been abused, neglected, or abandoned and CASA volunteers fill a crucial need simply by being a friend, a role model, and a voice. Yolo CASA also recruits and trains volunteers to mentor one on one with school children with the goal of improving a child's ability to succeed in school and in life.
