Description

World Sending Service has three main operational areas: - project facilitation as indicated in our mission statement; - mentorship of facilitators; - resourcing people through the resource centre. Ruimte Resource Centre is a division of World Sending Service (a non-profit and Section 21 organization), which is evangelical in doctrine, non-denominational in affiliation, and inter-denominational in practice. Ruimte Resource Centre serves to further God's kingdom by: * serving ministries, churches and individuals largely through Ministry Exposure Retreats, but also one on one through our office services * training small groups with specialist seminars * reaching out to local communities through strategic partnership development. We have a strong commitment to forge partnerships, especially resource partnerships by strategically linking needs with supply. Ruimte was acquired in a miraculous way in 2001 and dedicated by believers in October 2002 for this purpose. The 5 hectare property is used as a base; a home for teams and groups through Ikulendawo Self-Catering, office space for our hosts, World Sending Service, accommodation for personnel, with over 4 hectares being a green zone for walks, bird watching and relaxation. The lapa and adjoining communal lawns and pool with a beautiful view is used for small group training, special functions and relaxation space for personnel.

Organizational Statement of Faith

Statement of faith: - we believe that the Bible, as originally given, is divinely inspired, infallible and entirely trustworthy; and is the only supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and conduct; - we believe the Godhead is eternally co-equal and co-existent in three Persons; not three Gods but one; not one Person but three, namely the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, - being sovereign in creation, revelation, redemption and final judgement; - we believe that Jesus Christ was conceived of the Holy Ghost and born of the virgin Mary; - we uphold Jesus Christ's absolute deity as well as His complete humanity, two natures but one undivided person; - we believe in Jesus Christ's sinless human life, His divine miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, His mediatorial work, and His personal future return to this earth in power and glory to rule a thousand years; -ÿwe believe in the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ and that He ascended into heaven where He is now seated at the right hand of God, the position of power and authority; - we believe in the resurrection both of the just and the unjust, the eternal blessedness of the redeemed and the eternal banishment of those who have rejected the offer of salvation; - we believe in the blessed hope, the rapture of the church at Christ's coming; - we believe that the Lord Jesus Christ will manifest Himself in glory, majesty and power and in physical presence, this being the second coming of Christ; - we believe that God created humankind in His own image, that humankind sinned and thereby incurred the penalty of death, both physical and spiritual; that all human beings inherit a sinful nature which issues (in the case of those who reach moral responsibility) in actual transgression and guilt; - we believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, by His life, death, resurrection and ascension, has made available to all humankind the forgiveness of sins and eternal life; that these blessings are made personally real to the individual, not by works or by any personal merit in themselves, but by faith which is accompanied by repentance; - we believe that regeneration by the Holy Spirit, which is the new birth, makes a sinner a child of God, and that this is absolutely essential for personal salvation; that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Baptiser in the Holy Spirit; that by the Holy Spirit's indwelling the believer is enabled to live a holy life, to witness and to work for the Lord Jesus Christ; - we believe in the baptism of believers; that this baptism is a testimony to all witnesses of the new birth which has taken place in the believer's life, the believers identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection; - we believe that the Scriptures teach a life of holiness, and we are to obey the command "Be ye holy for I am holy"; that believers are sanctified (i.e. set apart) for God's purpose at conversion; - we believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to continue living a holy life; - we believe each individual believer has full and equal access to God through our Lord Jesus Christ, as a believer-priest; - we believe that Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and man; - we confess the Lord Jesus Christ and no other as Head of the church, and as our Lord; - we believe that the true church consists of the community of true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, who by faith have had their sins forgiven and been regenerated by the Holy Spirit; believing in the fellowship of all true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, recognising that the true church is not confined to any one denomination; - we believe that the ascended Lord Jesus Christ has given various ministries to the church, and each of these exist for the strengthening of, and is essential to, the welfare of the church; - we believe in the breaking of bread as commanded by our Lord Jesus Christ and as practised by the early church; - we believe that both the living and the dead will be judged, it being understood that the believer's condemnation was borne by our Lord Jesus Christ in His redemptive work.
