Mission Statement


World Computer Exchange?s mission is to bridge the digital divide for the world's poorest youth by collecting donated, working computers and building the capacity of schools and youth organizations in developing countries to connect and maintain them. By re utilizing computer equipment, we help the environment by keeping computers out of landfills

Description


* Our 380 field volunteers and Strategic Allies help our 450 Partner organisations build capacity in project planning, partnership development, fund raising, tech support, teacher training, shipping logistics, digital libraries, youth exchanges and responsible e-waste disposal. Central to this work are our 177 Programme Officers. * Our 275 chapter volunteers in 25 chapters have gathered, tested & shipped 26,000 computers that connect 2,500 schools, libraries, orphanages & youth centres used by over a million youth per year. They help us gather Sponsors, visibility, volunteers, schools & computers.
