Mission Statement

The Salvation Army has been serving the Santa Rosa area since 1886. During that time hundreds of thousands of people have benefited through our spiritual ministries, social service assistance programs, camping programs, activities for children, teens, men and women, as well as services to seniors, shut-ins, prisoners and families. Today The Salvation Army continues to address our community’s needs without discrimination. While the methods may have changed in the last 120 years, the motivation remains the same: Responding to the love of God for mankind, we strive to meet practical and spiritual human needs in the name of Jesus Christ. Our Corps Commanding Officers are: Captains Mark and Vicki Gilden Our locations are: Office (and all mail) Church 93 Stony Circle 115 Pierce Street (English) Santa Rosa, CA 95401 Santa Rosa, CA 95404 Phone 707-542-0981 93 Stony Circle (Spanish) Fax 707-542-5904 Santa Rosa, CA 95401 Family Services Silvercrest (Senior housing) 93 Stony Circle 1050 Third Street Door “C” Santa Rosa, CA 95404 Santa Rosa, CA 95401 Phone 707-544-6766 Phone 707-542-0998 Fax 707-544-9192

Description

Volunteers needed at The Salvation Army! We are in need of tutors and mentors who would like to volunteer at Brookhill Elementary from 2:45pm-4:45pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This program provides one on one tutoring with a child in 2nd to 6th grade. Each day there will be an hour of tutoring in grade specific subjects and homework assistance and an hour of mentoring (games, activities, crafts, etc). We also have a tutoring program here at the Santa Rosa corps building with Comstock Middle School boys and students from Double Punches Boxing Club on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3pm-4pm and 4pm-5pm. We are also looking for volunteers in our Family Services area helping to bag food for our clients Monday-Friday, 10:00 a.m. to noon. We are in need of volunteers to sort fruit in the afternoons; this would be an excellent opportunity for a student in need of filling their required volunteer hour’s necessary for some schools. For more information please contact DJ @ 707-535-4251 or danielle.suico@usw.salvationarmy.org
