Organizational Statement of Faith

It is reasonable to believe that the Creator of the universe would easily be able to communicate with us, His creation, in a concise, clear and flawless manner. We believe that the Old and New Testament (66 Books) is the God breathed message of God to us and was without error in the original writings. The Bible is our only authoritative and infallible rule of faith and practice and must be understood within the context in which it was written. God teaches us certain things in His inerrant Bible which are essential to the Christian faith. Youth Investment's position is that of historical Biblically orthodox believers in Jesus Christ. The essential and basic teachings of the Bible, the authoritative Word of God, are: THAT God is the creator and governor of the universe and is revealed in the scriptures as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three persons are one God, the same in substance, equal in power and glory. THAT all people have sinned (fallen short of God's standard) and are eternally lost and separated from God unless reconciled to God through Jesus Christ. THAT because Jesus Christ was sinless man as well as God in the flesh, He had no sins to pay for, was worthy to die in our place as God's lamb sacrificed for us. Just as God had ordained for people of Old Testament times that the shedding of sacrificial blood was temporary payment for their sins so was Jesus Christ, God's sacrifice for us once for all through the shedding of Christ's blood in payment of sins when Jesus was cruelly executed as a common criminal on the cross. THAT each person must choose to turn from their sin and by faith receive Christ as their Savior trusting in His payment for their sin and recognizing that this is by the grace of God, through no works or merit of their own. THAT Christ's payment for our sins is God's free gift of eternal life available to any person who will turn from sin and trust Jesus Christ's substitutionary atonement for their sin.                                       ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It is beyond our comprehension that it pleased God to do this for our sake. Literally this is Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ which Youth Investment seeks to present clearly to searching young people. We recognize that just as God has granted each person freedom to choose whether or not to serve Jesus Christ, so also young people may participate in our activities without interest in our Biblical perspective. Young people choosing to attend our voluntary Bible studies are strongly encouraged and taught to recognize the authority of their parents and to obey parents as commanded in the scriptures, including parental choice of church to be attended. In times of sharing the scripture we encourage each young person to search and learn the authoritative Word of God and to apply Bible standards to all matters of Faith and practice. For the young people we serve, at times our voluntary Bible studies serve as temporary and transitional fellowships for building a bridge of attendance at local churches that are built on the Bible.                                     -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our expectations of all staff is that their citizenship and values are consistent with the teachings of Scripture.
