Mission Statement
Teen Challenge of Arkansas is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to disciple people with life-controlling problems. This is accomplished through educational programs that are meticulously Christian and very demanding.
Description
We offer a residential program for adult males ages eighteen and older. It takes a minimum of fourteen months to complete the program. The first four months are spent at Teen Challenge of Arkansas, located just outside of Hot Springs. This is called the induction phase. The remaining ten months are spent at Mid-America Teen Challenge in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. This is the training phase. Depending on an individuals determination and abilities, the program could take longer than fourteen months to complete. The approach used by Teen Challenge is Bible based, and is administered by credentialed ministers. Aspects of this approach include attention to the spiritual well being and wholeness of the individual, setting goals of moral and ethical excellence, physical work and responsibility, emotional health and stability, and a caring community of peers in a non-destructive environment. The program is non-medical and non-clinical.
