Description

As we chisel down the pages of history, we stand on the firm foundation of Truth. Leading our youth to this foundation is our vision for this world. It is a vision where our societies will educate our youth into responsible citizens who will be dependable employees, responsible parents, trustworthy executives, role modeling educators, honorable politicians, compassionate entrepreneurs, and local community visionaries. It is a vision where thousands of volunteers, community leaders, faith-based leaders, parents, and educators join together and work to make a positive difference in the lives of young people. It is a vision where volunteer mentors give of themselves to work with depressed and confused students, and provide them with hope, guidance, and encouragement. It is a vision where there is a 10% decline in the statistics for youth concerning: • Violence • Cheating • Drug and alcohol use • School drop-out rates It is a vision where there is a 10% increase in the statistics for youth concerning: • Pursuit of higher education • Test scores • School attendance It is a vision where young people create a momentum in the world by living lives grounded in integrity, healthy habits, strong relationships, and positive influence.

Organizational Statement of Faith

Teach One to Lead One (T1L1) has adopted a set of guiding principles that steer the team towards the fulfillment of the vision to transform at-risk kids into responsible citizens. Those guiding principles are known as T1L1's Core Values: Integrity- Integrity is an attribute of God, which is demonstrated through honesty and justice and maintained through accountability. When faced with difficult decisions, we commit to abide by God ‚’s Word with integrity. Teamwork-Teamwork is our only mode of operation. The vision God entrusts to T1L1 demands that its members fully exercise the abilities and gifts given to them by the Holy Spirit. Together, we strengthen each weakness and celebrate each success. Prayer ‚– Prayer sustains our intimate relationship with God and provides protection from the enemy. Through prayer we discern God's Will, receive power to reach a generation for Christ, and intercede on their behalf. Growth – Growth is a process of personal development that determines our productivity and effectiveness. We will engage in activities that promote spiritual and intellectual maturity, leadership, and servant hood. Volunteers – Volunteers are those who partner with T1L1 to accomplish its goals and vision. T1L1 values and depends on volunteers to carry out its mission. We take the responsibility to invest in them by equipping them for service. Joy – Joy is a manifestation of God’s indwelling in our lives and in the vision of T1L1. We acknowledge His Sovereignty by choosing to find joy in all circumstances. Two additional guiding principles have remained unwritten but are ever present in all that T1L1 staff and volunteers do: Excellence and Celebration.
