Mission Statement

HOPE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM is one of the five-fold ministries of Tagbilaran Christian Alliance Missionary Church. It is a sponsorship program for indigent children in the province of Bohol. The purpose of the ministry is to provide financial assistance, provide feeding and training for the health and welfare of the scholars, promote moral and spiritual values, and enhance the scholars talents and skills. Most importantly, the heart of the program is in reaching the scholars to know Christ by providing weekly spiritual values classes, involving them in choir groups, evangelistic crusades, and praise and worship training. It aims to let the children see that there is hope in Christ no mater how miserable their lives may seem (the scholars come from broken and indigent families who live in "squatter's area near the port and in dumpsites). It wants to see them grow in the knowledge of God through constant nurturing and follow up. It aims to see them become good young Christians and be a good example to their non-Christian families and become a door for them to be saved. It envisions them succeeding in life as they grow, earning a good education, and carrying the seed in their heart that they will also have a desire to help other children someday.

Description

Our ministry to the children caters to the different aspects of their lives ‚? spiritual, physical, moral, social, and intellectual. We had also programmed different activities that will enhance their skills and talents like arts workshop, sportsfest, entrepreneurial workshops (like how to make food that they can sell), musical programs, outings, and other activities. We also provide feeding for the scholars and provide activities that will teach them good hygiene and proper care for their bodies. We provide assistance or tutorials to students are having a hard time with their subjects in school (mostly due to not enough food at home that they don‚?t have enough energy to concentrate in class and those who really needs mentoring.)But our main focus is to develop each child to grow spiritually through their spiritual values classes, mentoring and follow up, Day of Prayer, involvement in evangelistic crusades, outreach ministries and Benevolence program, praise and worship trainings, and joining inter-fellowship activities with other churches.

Organizational Statement of Faith

STATEMENT OF FAITH Of the CHRISTIAN AND MISSIONARY ALLIANCE CHURCHES OF THE PHILS., INC. (CAMACOP) 1. REVELATION AND THE WORD OF GOD Bible is God ‚’s revelation, the Word of God. It is the ultimate authority of faith and practice. 2. GOD There is one true God existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. 3. JESUS CHRIST Jesus Christ is true God and man. He suffered as a substitutionary sacrifice to provide eternal salvation for mankind. He rose again on the third day and ascended into heaven where he is now seated at God ‚’s right hand, ruling over all things and interceding for us as advocate and high priest, until he comes again to establish his kingdom upon the earth. 4. THE HOLY SPIRIT The Holy Spirit is a divine person, the executive of the Godhead; the Comforter who indwells, guides and empowers the believers for victorious living and effective service. He calls and keeps the church in faith and holiness, and convicts the world concerning sin, righteousness and judgment. 5. MAN ‚’S SIN AND GUILT Man was created in the image and likeness of God; hence, he is o infinite worth and dignity. Through disobedience, he fell into sin and incurred physical and spiritual death. 6. SALVATION Salvation is by grace through the redemption provided by the Lord Jesus Christ and received by faith in Him. Upon repentance form sin and the exercise of faith in Christ, the believer is justified in God ‚’s sight, adopted into God ‚’s household, born again and united in Christ. 7. THE CHURCH The church is the community of believers from all cultures, tribes and languages. It is called to belong to Jesus Christ, to confess and proclaim his Lordship among people. Thus it is commissioned to: (1) Make disciples of all nations and integrate them into local congregation; (2) Proclaim the uniqueness and finality of Christ; (3) Manifest God ‚’s sovereign rule by proclaiming the Gospel, and through acts of justice, righteousness, mercy and peace. The Sacraments to be observed are Baptism and the Lord ‚’s Supper. Baptism symbolizes the believer ‚’s identification with Christ in his death and resurrection and expresses his resolve to die to sin, self and the world and be loyal to Christ. The Lord ‚’s Supper is a proclamation of Christ ‚’s death, a remembrance of the Lord, and a means of spiritual renewal to the participant. 8. THE MINISTRY The whole Church is commissioned to continue and fulfill the mission of Christ. All believers serve God and their fellowmen in the church and in the world by the exercise of spiritual gifts and through their earthly occupations and stations in life. Within the ministry of the people of God are those who are called and ordained to perform special functions, like Gospel proclamation, shepherding, equipping the body of believers and administration of the Sacraments. 9. SANCTIFICATION AND POWER FOR SERVICE God wills the consecration and sanctification of all believers, thereby receiving power for holy living and effective service. Sanctification occurs after conversion but it should be continuing and growing experience. The believer is also exhorted to seek the power of the Holy Spirit for service. 10. DIVINE HEALING AND HEALTH In his mercy, power and sovereign will, God can heal the sick. Provision is made in the atoning death of Christ for the healing of the body. The anointing with oil and praying for the sick by the elders of the church, as set forth in the fifth chapter of James, is to be practiced. 11. CHRISTIAN HOPE AND THE LIFE TO COME God will accomplish his eternal purpose in history and bring all things to their consummation in Christ. In the end, Christ will come again personally and visibly to establish God ‚’s rule over all things. At his coming, God will call believers to eternal life; unbelievers will be judged for their sins and suffer everlasting punishment. This hope is a holy motive for consecrated living and faithful stewardship.
