Mission Statement


St. Stephen's Ministry of Augusta, Inc. is an organization dedicated to providing housing for persons with HIV/AIDS who are low income or homeless. The mission of this program is to facilitate independence, dignity and well being through safe, affordable, and appropriate housing. In addition, we provide services to homeless and low income persons living with HIV/AIDS and the affected persons in their lives.

Description


St. Stephen's Ministry offers subsidized transitional housing for up to 12 HIV+ clients in a communal setting. Within our transitional housing program, we provide clients with a safe, stable, productive living environment for up to 24 months that includes counseling and volunteerism activities. We also provide Case Management, Individual Therapy, Relapse Prevention, Life-Skills Training, Transportation, Adult Basic Education, Monthly Support Group, Resource Information and Referrals to other appropriate local agencies. Outside of our Transitional Housing program, St. Stephen's Ministry also provides an array of services to the many people affected by HIV/AIDS living independent lives in the community. Our Community Cupboard is a free supplemental food pantry offering a wide variety of grocery and meat items, occasional fresh produce and personal hygiene products. We also offer Free Confidential HIV Testing (weekly), Emergency Medication Assistance (EMAP), Rent and utility assistance, using HUD guidelines, Bus tickets, Adult Basic Education, and a Monthly Support Group.
