Mission Statement
Goal: The overall goal of St Sampson the Hospitable Mission is to assist those in need in finding access to appropriate medical care. This is done through our objectives. 1) To send short and medium term medical relief, education, and public health assistance to areas of need* 2) To ship supplies and/or monies to already established organizations in areas of need* 3) To provide guidance and/or support to administrators running already established organizations in areas of need* 4) To provide guidance and/or support to persons seeking to participate in short or medium term trips to areas of need* 5) To foster interreligious and ecumenical bridging between organizations (both secular and religious) to work together in achieving our overall goal *areas of need - within our objective context an "area of need" is usually defined as a third world country - however, inner city, rural, or otherwise impoverished or "outcast" persons within a developed country may also apply
Description
At present, our path leads Eastward: We feel the Lord's call upon our heart...and that call starts in roads of East Europe, but where the Lord calls we shall follow. We pray that we may show God's love to the poor of the world by sharing appropriate medical care to all people. We show compassion and care through the healing arts to all of God's children without regard to race, gender, social status, religion, or orientation.
Organizational Statement of Faith
Notably: our four staff do not necessarily see eye to eye on all aspects of theology. They have found their common ground in the two Great Commandments: Loving God & Loving Neighbor. At St Sampson's we will NEVER judge nor withhold any medical care, within our scope and means, due to any religious ideal. We do not convert nor judge. We will not discriminate nor proselytize.
