Organizational Statement of Faith

THE BIBLE We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant and authoritative Word of God and the foundation for teaching, faith and salvation through Jesus Christ. ONE GOD We believe in one triune God revealed in the eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. JESUS CHRIST We believe Jesus Christ to be God manifest in the flesh; in His virgin birth, sinless life, divine miracles, vicarious death on the cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to heaven and mediating work and His visible return to earth in power and glory. SIN We believe that man was created in the image of God, but was tempted by Satan and fell. We believe in the total and universal sinfulness of mankind and that all willingly fall short of God’s Holiness in the course of their lives, therefore that each should face and deserve a just punishment for sin. SALVATION We believe the only escape from this judgment is through the mercy of God that is shown to a repentant sinner who accepts by faith the sacrifice of Jesus. Following this change of heart and act of faith, we believe the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in the new believer who is thus "born again" of God. The new believer becomes a member of the universal Body of Christ through faith and should become an active participant In a local Christian fellowship and should, as soon as possible, take water baptism as a public declaration of his/her intention to follow Christ. HOLY SPIRIT We believe the ministry of the Holy Spirit in the lives of Christians is to empower us to live a life of godliness and effective service. THE CHURCH We believe in the spiritual unity of all true believers in Christ and that these comprise the Body of Christ on earth regardless of their denominational affiliation. THE RESURRECTION We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the unrighteous; the saved to the resurrection of life and the unrighteous to the resurrection of damnation. THE GREAT COMMISSION We believe that all followers of Jesus Christ are to help fulfill the Great Commission as found in Matthew 28:18-20. Beyond the basics of the Christian Faith, we acknowledge there is room for diversity within the framework of historic Evangelic Christianity.
