Mission Statement

What is our mission? We are Christians who see a need and want to fill it. An estimated 700,000 people are homeless in the United States. In a world where so many of us are snuggled up safely in our down comforters, accustomed to the conveniences of our cell phones and microwave ovens, there are thousands roaming the streets of our nation with no home, no food, no medicine, not much of anything. The stereotype is the single white man, but the truth is that about 23% of these people are members of households with children. And we let this go on every day in the richest nation on the planet. This is how we decided to help - by simply planning ahead. We compiled a list of things we would like to have if we were living on the street. We purchased them and packed them into "kits" we carry in our cars. The intent is to aid our brothers in need by being prepared to quickly and easily offer some necessities. Of course we always include a bible.

Description

When you see a homeless person on the street, your first instinct is to avert your eyes. You don't know if they're really in need, if they would spend a handout on alcohol, or even if they're mentally stable. As ugly as it may be, this is the cold hard truth about what crosses your mind when you see someone on the street, but God wants us to be kind to all and share in the spirit of His great love.

Organizational Statement of Faith

We're not presumptive enough to assume all homeless people need to be saved, and that it could be accomplished if only they had a pocket bible, but this is, afterall, an action of God's love. We just want to provide God's word, and what they do with it, is their perrogitive. We could be giving the Bible to the most faithful believer, in which case, we're happy to provide a copy of His word for them to study, or to share with others. Our mission is one to restore faith in your neighbor through the love of Jesus Christ
