Mission Statement
The San Francisco Lighthouse Corps is called to be a LIGHT in our community. Our mission is to serve the residents of Harbor Light, Harbor House, and Detox, individuals and families in the surrounding community, and one another, by: - sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ - showing the Love of God - serving others in practical ways In order that God may be glorified!
Description
Our organization has three key components: The Harbor Light Center is a live in/work out program for men and women with focus on the underlying roots of addiction through education on substance abuse, providing group sessions and individual counseling while dealing with medical problems, family relationships, preparation for independent living, schooling and employment. The Harbor House provides transitional housing to homeless single parents with children. Services include parenting classes, life skills, support groups, individualized counseling and a licensed child care program. The Lighthouse Corps is a church community center for the South of Market residents in San Francisco including recovering addicts and their families. Various group activities for adults and youth are available.
Organizational Statement of Faith
The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
