Mission Statement
The purpose of the Redwood Gospel Mission is to bring Good News to the poor, homeless, and needy of Sonoma County by: - Sharing the love of God exemplified by the life and ministry of Jesus Christ that lives might be transformed by His love and power; Providing emergency subsistence services, such as food, shelter and clothing; Providing long term drug, alcohol, and substance recovery services; Educating and equipping the people of Sonoma County to effectively minister to needy people.
Description
Founded in 1963 to bring "Good News to the poor", the Redwood Gospel Mission has become the largest privately funded provider of services to the poor and homeless in the North Bay (California). Several Christ-centered programs - Men and women's drug/ alcohol residential recovery programs, work programs for both men and women; shelter, food, showers, clothing for homeless men, women and children. Transitional housing for those who have completed our residency programs, Hispanic ministries - Evangelism, food & clothing, job assistance, immigration assistance and English lessons; Primary Chaplaincy and Jail Ministry provider for Sonoma County jails teaching recovery/ life skills, counseling, Bible studies; Thrift stores to provide clothing, furniture, cars at affordable prices and job training; several community outreaches during the year serving low-income and homeless.
