Mission Statement

Mission Statement "Now no individual can help another individual unless he himself is strong. You notice that the curriculum here goes along in three directions along the line of labor, of academic training, and of moral and religious training. We expect those who are here to keep strong, and to make themselves efficient in these three directions, in each of which you are to learn to be leaders." -Booker. T. Washington RCA believes in Booker T. Washington's idea of educating the Hand, Head, and Heart. Redemption Christian Academy's objective is to provide an environment conducive to learning. Our mission is to develop excellence by transforming our students SPIRITUALLY, ACADEMICALLY, and ATHLETICALLY. An emphasis is placed on TRUTH, CHRISTIAN CHARACTER, COMMITMENT, and BENEVOLENCE while teaching students to be problem solvers and standard-bearers in their communities. Hand- Hard work and manual labor not only produce skills that can be used for a lifetime, but they also teach us discipline and responsibility. Head- Education is one of the most important resources of which we do not take full advantage. We must also realize that education does not end in the classroom, but it is an ongoing process that is developed and cultivated beyond the classroom walls. Heart- "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life." (KJV) "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." (NIV) - Proverbs 4:23 "You may fill your heads with knowledge or skillfully train your hands, but unless it is based upon high, upright character, upon a true heart, it will amount to nothing. You will be no better than the most ignorant." - Booker T. Washington Every student should view their education as an investment! RCA invests into each student, and each student should, in return, invest into RCA. Every student's degree of investment is measured by the effort and commitment they show while attending Redemption Christian Academy. As a result, the education of the hand, head, and heart that begins in the classroom also continues into RCA's work study/career development program. Since its inception, Redemption Christian Academy has placed an emphasis on quality education, hard work, and external and internal motivation. RCA is committed to transforming students' lives through character development and diligence. Attending RCA is an experience that consists of spiritual, educational, and athletic challenges. With the help of our dedicated staff, hard work, and family support, every student has the opportunity to succeed. We want to help produce future leaders that will not only impact their families and communities, but also the world!

Description

History Founded in 1979 by Pastor John Massey, Jr., Redemption Christian Academy (RCA) provides quality education in an affordable structured, Christian environment. Pastor Massey believed that in the right environment, any student, regardless of race, sex, or background, could achieve academic excellence. Rev. Massey's vision was to provide a strong academic foundation to help hard-working, motivated students reach their ne plus ultra. Redemption Christian Academy began as a day school and less than five years later welcomed its first boarding students. Since then, RCA has welcomed international students from around the world from countries which include: Switzerland, Venezuela, the Bahamas, Korea, France, Germany, Croatia, Bulgaria, Italy, the Dominican Republic, Greece, Canada, the Czech Republic, Ghana, Macedonia, Liberia, Nigeria, the United Kingdom, Belgium, and others. RCA now has branches in Texas, Liberia, and India. Over the years, RCA has attracted many volunteers, including a number of highly professional faculty members. What began as a small church-school has now grown into an interdependent community of educators, volunteers, students, and their families. Many of RCA's alumni have not only been a part of the school since the doors opened in 1979, but have returned to help educate future graduates. RCA is an experience that consists of spiritual, academic, and athletic challenges. With the help of the staff, hard work, and family support, every student can succeed. Together we endeavor to cultivate tomorrow's leaders. We have produced future leaders that will continue to impact their families and communities as well as the world!

Organizational Statement of Faith

Statement of Faith The Bible is God's Word. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" (John 1:1). "The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever." Isaiah 40:8 Man needs God's redemption. "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned" (Romans 5:12). "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23). "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16). "Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into death: Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:" (Romans 6:3-5) "For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily." (Colossians 2:9). "The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:" (I Peter 3:21). "One Lord, one faith, one baptism" (Ephesians 4:5). "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." (Acts 2:38-39). For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. (Galatians 3:27) Our lives must reflect a Christian walk. Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. (Romans 6:4-6) "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new" (II Corinthians 5:17). "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord" (Hebrews 12:14). "Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world" (Titus 2:12). There will be a Resurrection of the dead, and Eternal Judgment. "Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment" (Hebrews 6:1-2). "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." (I Thessalonians 4:14-17) In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed." (I Corinthians 15:52) And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. (Daniel 12:2) Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil unto the resurrection of damnation. (John 5:28-29) And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:11-15)
