Mission Statement


To improve the quality of life of the vulnerable and disadvantaged people by enabling them, their families and communities to meet their basic needs and to increase their ability to participate in and benefit from their societies.

Description


Pamo Volunteers was established in 1995 by men and women of vision who were mindful of the serious problems, which the vulnerable and disadvantaged people of Uganda are facing. It was registered with the National Registration Board of Non- Governmental Organizations (NGOS) in Kampala- Uganda in 1996. It was incorporated as company limited by guarantee and not having a share capital on 3rd March 2009. It has a visionary compassionate approach of community development and is accredited member with the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD).The word ?Pamo? comes from a vernacular word ?Ipamora? which means ?People who share at all times?. How Pamo Volunteers works: Pamo Volunteers works in concert and partnership with local communities that must accept that they own development projects and fully commit themselves to participate actively in project management. Commitment to quality: Pamo Volunteers is committed to achieving excellence in meeting the needs of the people it serves through the creation and maintenance of an enabling management environment entered on a process of continuous improvement, measurement and systematic support involving all levels of the organization. Pamo Volunteers has three main organs that enable its smooth running, namely: ? The General Assembly: It is the supreme decision making body of all matters pertaining to the organization. It comprises of all the registered members, both male and female. Registered members constitute themselves into an Annual General Meeting (AGM) once a year. ? The Executive Committee: This is the policy making organ. Office bearers are elected directly by the General Assembly every three years. ? The secretariat: This is the hub of implementation of the organization?s projects. It is headed by the Director/ Administration, who is assisted by professional staff in implementing projects and administration.
