The mission of Habitat for Humanity of Kent County is to strengthen families and communities in service to God through partnerships, healthy house building and affordable homeownership. In 2008 we are commited to build all LEED certified homes.
Mission Statement
Established in 1983 we are an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. A local Board of Directors sets policy and the vision for the organization. We are the only homebuilding nonprofit in Kent & Eastern Ottawa Counties that targets families who make 30% to 50% of the are median income. Our families must demonstrate an ability and willingness to repay the mortgage, be willing to partner with Habitat in the work and have a demonstrated need for improved housing. We are ranked 14th out of 1700 national affiliates and are leading the way in sustainable design, or "green" homes. Habitat for Humanity of Kent County gets a four star rating on www.CharityNavigator.org an independent non-profit rating service.
