health, education, social services, ministry, literacy, construction, agriculture, advocacy, community
organizing and MANY MORE. Opportunities are available in over 40 U.S. states as well as over 50 countries worldwide.
Period of Service: Long term: Most programs offer 1-year and 2-year placements. Short term: Placements range
from 1 week to 6 months.

Compensation/Benefits: Most full-time volunteer programs provide room and board, health insurance and a

Requirements
Education Requirements: Long term: Most programs desire a college degree in some area but will accept
appropriate work/life experience in place of a college degree. Short term: Some education required (typically a high
school diploma).
Work Authorization Status: Many programs accept only U.S. citizens or U.S. Nationals, but others do accept
non-U.S. citizens.
