Description

One Mission: Galveston is moving into its second year of the hurricane Ike recovery effort. We have moved past most of the demolition phase in the community, and we are helping homeowners in the rebuilding of their homes and lives. We need volunteers though the fall and winter of 2009, and we are accepting reservations for spring and summer of 2009. We can hold up to 350 volunteers in our facility (a 70,000 sqft elementary school) through which we feed, project manage, house and serve our volunteers. This is a one-stop, plug-and-play service/volunteer opportunity for those looking to come to Glaveston to help with the disaster recovery efforts. Check out our website for full details about the need, pricing, storm info, etc. We accept anyone who is willing to volunteer. Our groups have included families, church high school and middle school groups, adult small groups and sunday school classes, college service groups, fraternities & soroities, community service organizations, and many more. Typically we allow anyone 14 and older, but we have made special considerations for people younger who come with parents. Please, check us out online or give us a call...WE NEED YOUR HELP! www.OneMissionGalveston.org (409) 795-9342
