Description

The ideal candidates would be working directly with CFP's President as well as providing hands-on experience with the non-profit and social services sectors. And this opportunity will allow the candidate the flexibility to work around his/her personal schedule and through mostly virtual (telecommuting) means. Basics of the job description are as follows (these can be split up among 2-3 individuals): **Communicating via telephone and email with existing organizations as well as with potential new participants **Update and maintain CFP's Member database of approx. 200+ organizations and individuals; update email list with additions and changes as needed **Process new member requests and follow up with prospects as needed **Assist the CFP President and Board in contacting churches by phone and email in Cobb County to encourage interest in CFP, as well as visiting new participant sites if able to do so around class schedule. **Assisting CFP Board with the Small Ministries Forum planning and implementation. The event, held the first Tuesday in May, usually starts pre-planning in October-November with a handful of committee members helping share the responsibility of logistics (venue, food donations, speaker lineup, etc. ) **Check the PO Box each week located at the Gresham Road US Post Office branch. **Attend board meetings and general meetings if able to do so. **If needed, Assist Geographic Team Leaders in contacting team members about upcoming meetings and with follow-up with team members & prospects.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be comfortable with in-person, telephone, and email communication. Basic knowledge of computers required including at least proficiency in MSWord and Excel. A desire to work in social services or not-for-profits a plus! Because most volunteer work will be done from off-site, it is necessary that the volunteer either have a computer with internet connection, or consistent access to such. Individuals successful in this position come from backgrounds in the following areas: Social Work, Sociology, Communication, Management, and related. Estimated Hours: **Minimum of 10, Maximum of 25
