The YMCA of Greater Seattle is a charitable, non-profit organization serving King and south Snohomish counties. For more than 131 years, the YMCA of Greater Seattle has provided safe and caring environments, positive role models, creative activities and opportunities to serve the needs of others. These are the essential building blocks for strong kids, strong families and strong communities. Community focused... Through our 12 branches, two resident camps and more than 200 program sites throughout the community, the YMCA positively impacts more than 191,200 people of all ages, races, faiths and economic backgrounds. The following goals provide focus for YMCA efforts to meet community needs: Provide activities for youth which shape values and encourage lifelong community service Support and strengthen all families Encourage and support the development of healthy lifestyles Provide older adults with opportunities to create healthy and productive lives for themselves and the community Attract diverse individuals who will work together to create a community where all participate
