Mission Statement

The mission of Jabez Ministries Incorporated (JMI) is to engage youth in an environment that will nurture and foster academic success, build character and integrity, and promote the overall well being of our youth. By providing comprehensive and customized academic, social, mental, physical and vocational programs, as well as, enrichment through arts and athletics, JMI seeks to positively impact the participants, their families and ultimately improve the landscape of the communities we serve.

Description

JMI provides programs and activities for elementary, junior high and high school students. Our stakeholders are in the Chicago Heights and Ford Heights, Illinois School Districts. In both communities students are marred by low socio-economic conditions and attend low-performing schools where 95% of the student body qualify for free hot lunch. To help counter these effects, JMI offers programs such as E.X.C.E.L. and A-Cubed. The E.X.C.E.L. Program mentors “at-risk” teens (dropouts and truants) through education (GED completion), life skills development, continuing education stipends, job training and placement. The A-Cubed Program targets academically challenged youth 14 and under, and focuses on academic remediation and instruction, the arts, and athletics.

Organizational Statement of Faith

We believe in one God, who continues to reveal Himself, His truth and His will in the Holy Scriptures and through His Holy Spirit. We believe God exists in three persons: the Father, Jesus Christ our Lord, and the Holy Spirit (which dwells inside each of us, because we are believers – a born again Christians). We believe that Jesus was crucified, died, buried and ascended into heaven and seated with the Father and did so for the remission of our sins and all sinners. God is Lord of our life, He is our all and all. We seek to live a lifestyle of worship unto the Lord. Our first love is God and we will not put anything or anyone before Him.
