Mission Statement


Mission Statement: "We, the missionaries, inspired by the charism and mission of the Incarnate Word, choose to live in community and walk in solidarity with the economically poor and marginalized, in order to be transformed by them and to transform unjust social structures that keep people economically poor and marginalized."

Description


We invite men and women to be a lay member of the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word in order to deepen one's spirituality through Christian communities, sharing in a simple lifestyle and deepening commitments to social justice. We offer opportunities to do missionary work (from 1 to 3 years)in the U.S., Guatemala, Mexico and Peru. The focus of the work is varied and can include areas such as Parish/pastoral ministry, teaching, health care, human rights, medical/hospice ministry, work with indigenous peoples, leadership development, work with women and children, AIDS ministry, agronomist.
