Mission Statement
MEC is a non-profit, volunteer-based, 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to provide doctors in developing countries with quality medical equipment to improve health care for the poor. For the past 14 years, IMEC has worked with over sixty other humanitarian organizations to revitalize hundreds of existing, impoverished hospitals with donated surplus medical equipment and supplies that are organized into complete medical departments, delivering them to over seventy countries around the world.
Description
What We Do: Complete Medical Suites At the core of the service that IMEC offers is our system of Complete Medical Suites. We assemble and ship donated medical equipment and supplies into function-focused suites, based on providing all the equipment needed to turn an empty room into a fully functional department of a working hospital. Our Complete Medical Suites —nursery, exam room, delivery, operating room, radiology, laboratory, etc.— include furniture and linens as well as medical equipment and tools, all cleaned, repaired and fully operational. Over our years of service, IMEC has developed this system into an efficient and effective process for improving health care in impoverished hospitals worldwide.
