Description

Hearts with Hope Program strives to produce in our young clients a seed for wellness and lasting change. Such lasting change can be achieved by positive modeling, guiding education, and development. We seek to give our clients the perspective to see the potential both in and beyond their current circumstances. Services include tutoring, story hour, arts and crafts, music, games, etc. Emergency Services: Home Sweet Home MinistriesÂ’ Emergency Services program addresses the short-term, but acute basic needs of homeless men, women, and families. Services include shelter, toiletries, food, referrals, case management, and basic life skills training which continue until the client is either ready for check-out or moves on to the Threshold program. Threshold Program: A Christ-centered, residential program geared specifically for persons who are willing to invest the significant time and personal commitment necessary to overcome homelessness. Within the growth tracks of substance abuse, life skills, parenting skills, and child services, Threshold offers a comprehensive treatment plan designed to transform lives. Between the growth tracks, we serve on average between 40-60 clients on any given day. Food Services: Food Services is at the heart of our ministry at Home Sweet Home. We serve our clients three meals each day seven days per week each consisting of hot, nutritionally balanced food. We serve many hungry mouths each day that are not homeless, but come for the hot meal. We also distribute food boxes for those in need three times per week. Occasionally, there are individuals we are unable to serve due to outstanding criminal warrants, etc. although we cannot host them inside our facility, sack lunches are provided to them upon request. Sack lunches are also provided for clients that work during the day. Over 68,000 meals were served from our facility in 2008. The majority of this food was donated from individuals and businesses in our community.

Organizational Statement of Faith

We of Home Sweet Home Ministries, Inc. subscribe to the following beliefs: • The Bible is the inspired, infallible, ultimately authoritative Word of God. • There is one God, eternally existing as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. • God is a loving God who desires a relationship with all people. • We are separated from God by our sinful nature. • The Lord Jesus Christ is fully God. He was born of a virgin as both fully human and fully divine. He died on the cross to save us from our sins. He bodily resurrected and ascended into Heaven, and He will come again in power and great glory. • We are saved by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. As the Holy Spirit convicts us of our sin and brings us to this faith, we must make a personal decision for Christ. • The Holy Spirit indwells each believer and enables us to grow in our new life with the living Lord. • The Holy Spirit unites all true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and together we form one body, the church.
