Legal Services The Legal Services team aims to reunite families separated due to their immigration status and to assist people to obtain immigration status in order to work legally and provide for their families. The legal department assists clients with adjustment of status, consular processing, naturalization, NACARA, relative petitions, TPS, VAWA, and many others applications, as well as representation of clients before immigration officers and the Immigration Court. New clients are seen through intake on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Clients are seen on a first-come, first-served basis and must arrive before 9:30AM. Education Services The Education department offers four levels of English classes to adults at numerous sites throughout the Diocese. The year-round classes are held mornings, evenings, and weekends to accommodate the studentsÃ?? busy lives. Volunteer instructors teach survival English skills using a curriculum developed by staff specifically for adults in the Washington, DC metro area. Social Services The Social Services department provides clients with emergency financial assistance and emergency food support. This department serves the community with information and referrals, to help them find solutions to a wide variety of concerns including healthcare, legal representation, employment discrimination, housing, public benefits, mental health, education, and shelter.
