Mission Statement

The mission of Helping Hooves Equine Therapy is to share the joy and empowerment of horses and horsemanship with individuals with special needs. We will form partnerships with the Boards of Developmental Disabilities and school systems in our surrounding counties to provide education and riding lessons, at our facility and theirs, to students with cognitive, developmental, and emotional disabilities. In all forms of therapy, including therapeutic riding, hippotherapy, equine facilitated psychotherapy and/or equine-assisted learning, we will practice standards of safety in line with those developed by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International. We will serve each client and family as individuals worthy of respect and kindness.

Description

Helping Hooves Equine Therapy is a fledgling therapeutic riding program. We offer horseback riding lessons for individuals with a variety of disabilities, from 4 years old to 104 years young. Riding and being around horses has physical, social, and cognitive benefits for people of all ages and walks of life, and our goal at Helping Hooves is to allow as many people as possible to experience that joy.
