Mission Statement


As Protestant Representatives of the Christian faith. which is based particularly on Scripture and also on traditions, reason, and experience, we seek to make contributions to China and her intellectual community in the belief that these Christian resources are relevant to Chinese culture and modern society. We form this Consortium to work cooperatively with universities and research institutions in China to study and research the foundation of Christianity. Our research and dialogue extends to Christian traditions, as well as its impact throughout human history with emphasis on Chinese society, past and present.

Educational Resources and Referrals-China(ERRC) is a non-profit organization incorporated by Mrs. Martha Chan in April 1986 in Berkeley , California . Our founding board includes Chinese-Americans, In June 1995, the Canadian branch of ERRC was founded. In 1994, ERRC received "Registration Certificate for Overseas organization Introducing Foreign Experts," issued by the State Administration of Foreign Expert Affairs (SAFEA). In 1996, the affiliated organization, China Academic Consortium (CAC), was formed. Since 1987 ERRC has placed over 200 Americans/Canadians to teach in key universities in major cities throughout China .

Organizational Statement of Faith


ERRC BELIEVES IN: 1) THE HOLY SCRIPTURES AS ORIGINALLY GIVEN BY GOD, DIVINELY INSPIRED, INERRANT, INFALLIBLE, ENTIRELY TRUSTWORTHY, AND THE SURPEME AUTHORITY IN ALL MATTERS OF FAITH AND CONDUCT. 2) ONE GOD, ETERNALLY EXISTENT IN THREE PERSONS: FATHER, SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT. 3) OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, GOD MANIFEST IN THE FLESH, HIS VIRGIN BIRTH, HIS VICARIOUS AND ATONING DEATH, HIS BODILY RESURRECTION, HIS ASCENSION, HIS MEDIATORY WORK, AND HIS PERSONAL RETURN IN POWER AND GLORY. 4) THE SALVATION OF LOST AND SINFUL MAN THROUGH THE SHED BLOOD OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, BY FAITH APART FROM WORKS, AND THE REGENERATION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. 5) THEY HOLY SPIRIT, BY WHOSE INDWELLING THE BELIEVER IS ENABLED TO LIVE A HOLY LIFE, TO WITNESS AND WORK FOR THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. 6) UNITY IN THE SPIRIT OF ALL TRUE BELIEVERS, THE CHURCH , THE BODY OF CHRIST. 7) THE RESURRECTION OF BOTH THE SAVED AND THE LOST, THEY THAT ARE SAVED UNTO THE RESURRECTION OF LIFE, THEY THAT ARE LOST UNTO THE RESURRECTION OF DAMNATION.
