Mission Statement


Empower and Care Organization is a Community Based Organization (CBO) operating in Mukono county and Maracha district, Uganda. EACO?s mission is to reduce poverty and HIV/AIDS through the creation of economic empowerment, educational opportunities, and support for disadvantaged groups of people. EACO?s activities are targeted toward vulnerable women, particularly widows and those living with HIV/AIDS, as well as vulnerable children, youth, and the elderly. EACO believes that effective and sustainable development comes through empowerment programmes, where vulnerable members of the community are given the skills, motivation and support to improve their lives and communities. EACO is always striving to improve its services and welcomes international volunteers. There are vast opportunities including: - HIV care and counseling. - Delivering support, materials and writing reports on EACO project progress. -Teaching at schools and co-ordination peer education projects. -Assisting with administration. -Delivering training to staff and volunteers on relevant issues. -Assisting with building projects. -Writing grant proposals. EACO particularly welcomes skilled professionals that can help the organization to improve and develop, but EACO welcomes the enthusiasm and commitment of all willing volunteers. EACO is committed to ensuring all voluntary experiences are as mutually beneficial as possible, and can find accommodation with local families or in guest houses. Regardless of the duration of your time, EACO will welcome you as one of the family, and give you the chance to make life-long friends in the community, REALLY make a difference, and work with a truly inspirational community based organization.

EACO is a community based development organization that was started in 2006 with the mission to create an enabling environment for the disadvantaged groups of people in Mukono county through economic empowerment and generation of educational support. EACO interventions focus on poverty reduction and address the effects of HIV/AIDS. A majority of vulnerable women, particularly widows and those living with HIV/AIDS, as well as vulnerable children, youth, and the elderly. in this area, located at Ggulu A, have limited to no opportunities to participate in decisions concerning their wellbeing because of their vulnerability (usually poverty and gender) or their age. As a result of the lack of sources of income, they are unable to meet their most basic needs. EACO is currently operating in Mukono EACO is compelled by the desperate circumstances facing this population and believes that by investing in economic development and improving health education, these vulnerable individuals can be empowered to seize new opportunities and broaden their horizons for a brighter future.

Organizational Statement of Faith


In the spirit of Christ, we should oppose racism, every form of greed, selfishness, and vice, and all forms of sexual immorality. We should work to provide for the orphaned, the needy, the abused, the aged, the helpless, and the sick. Every member should seek to bring industry, government, and society as a whole under the sway of the principles of righteousness, truth, and brotherly love. In order to promote these ends With Causes shall be ready to work with all men of good will in any good cause, always being careful to act in the spirit of love without compromise.
