Description

Christians Overcoming Cancer operates three programs offering services to the community and specifically to cancer patients. BE AWARE PROJECT- EDUCATION is key to AWARENESS and EARLY DETECTION. Our Be Aware project is designed to share basic cancer awareness information and encourage seeking early treatment. Our goal is to address the fears people have and dispel cancer myths. Speakers are available to provide cancer awareness information and statistical information as well as personal stories of overcoming. WE CARE PROJECT- SUPPORT is critical to the overall EMOTIONAL HEALTH of a cancer patient. Our We Care project provides a 24-hour network of people offering those newly diagnosed with cancer individual and/or group support ranging from a listiening ear to companionship at treatments to family support during surgery. We teach the 90/10% happenings of life rule which states life is 10% what happens and 90% our response to what happens. Our desire is to support a person mentally, emotionally and spiritually through their battle to help them not just survive cancer but overcome cancer! Dollars Allocated to Assist (DATA) Project- FINANCIAL RELIEF is vital to the OVERALL STABILITY of a cancer patient. Our DATA project serves as an information resource bank for cancer patients. We compile contact and eligibility information of programs providing services to cancer patients. We also maintain resources to help a cancer patient meet their financial obligations when no other organization is able to or available to assist. Payments are made directly to companies on behalf of our clients. We also maintain a restricted fund, the Mark Hudson II Fund, which offers financial resources to families with a child in treatment.
