Mission Statement
The mission of Christian Women's Job Corps of Madison County, AL, Inc. is to equip area women with the life and employment skills needed for them to obtain self-sufficiency. With the support of area volunteers, our goal is to break the cycle of poverty, be it financial or poverty of spirit.
Description
The Christian Women's Job Corps (CWJC) is a non-profit, faith-based agency where women in need are equipped for life and employment. Women chosen to participate in the CWJC program attend intensive life and work skills courses that include instruction in computer operation. The classes are free of charge and are designed to give CWJC students a firm foundation on which to build a successful life and career. Every student is assigned a mentor who is committed to a one-on-one relationship to help build the student's self-esteem, self-confidence, and skills essential to succeed in life and at work.
Organizational Statement of Faith
We believe that there is one God eternally existing in three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe that the Bible is GodÂ’s written revelation to man and that it is divinely inspired and authoritative. The criterion by which the Bible is to be interpreted is Jesus Christ. We believe that man was created in the image of God, but because of sin, was alienated from God. That alienation can be removed only by accepting through faith alone GodÂ’s gift of salvation, which was made possible by ChristÂ’s death. We believe that Jesus Christ came seeking to save each person so that He could give them abundant and eternal life. We believe that we find the way, the truth, and abundant eternal life in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as His Holy Spirit indwells us and then leads and empowers us each day.
