Mission Statement
The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
Description
The Center of Hope provides 95 transitional housing program beds for single adult homeless men. The programÂ’s goals are to help residents 1). Gain or re-gain self-sufficiency; 2.) Obtain or maintain employment and permanent housing, and 3.) Establish or strengthen their ties with the community. These goals will restore their self esteem, build their individual capacities, and enable them to become productive members of society. Center of Hope services are specifically designed to meet the unique needs of the chronically homeless, including those who are veterans, mentally challenged, or addicted to drugs or alcohol. Therapeutic substance abuse and mental health treatment services are provided by state-licensed, contracted practitioners, who provide an educational focus on life skills, anger management, adult education and goal setting. Case management focuses on resolving barriers to independence. Case managers assist residents in resolving legal issues, obtaining health care, entitlement benefits, employment, reconnecting with family, and transitioning to permanent independent housing.
