Mission Statement
The foundational beliefs behind all of the activities of Bread of Life are threefold as follows: First, we believe that the world is undergoing major upheavals along political, social, economic, technological, and spiritual dimensions which affect the lives of countless children, impoverished families, and elderly persons. Second, we believe that organizations such as ours who hear God's call must respond to meet the challenges of these unsettling conditions on behalf of the innocent victims, the children, the poor, and the elderly. Third, it follows from these beliefs that there is need to develop orphanages, half-way homes, and residential centers where children may be rescued and nurtured back into lives of stability, happiness, opportunity, and where the joys of childhood may be experienced. Based on these beliefs, and an unwavering commitment to sharing the love of Jesus with the needy, we see Bread of Life's role as providing the facility for taking in abandoned and unwanted children. In addition, food, clothing, medical supplies, and financial assistance are provided for needy families through our "Brother`s Keeper Sponsorship Program." We also see our role to be providing the volunteer Christian staff the stable, godly environment, and the positive development of each child's health: mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. We say this in full recognition of the humble state of our organization and with clear understanding of the complexity of this admittedly daunting task. We acknowledge the Lordship of our Savior, Jesus Christ and seek to give Him all the glory and praise for the miracles that He accomplished through our efforts of love.
Description
Bread of Life is a 501 ( c ) 3, Non-profit organization, based in Mesquite, Texas. We also have an NGO in Romania where we own and operate an orphanage for 80 children. (An NGO in Europe is the equivalent of a US Non-profit). Our ministry in Romania also operates a daily Soup Kitchen for street children who do not live at our orphanage, for poor families, and for the elderly. Here in the US we work with Churches, businesses, individuals, and groups to raise the finances necessary to meet all of the administrative and operational expenses. In Romania we have a salaried staff of 30 employees and directors. In the US we have only one paid employee, our bookkeeper/accountant. A second paid employee would be our Grant Writer after one is located.
Organizational Statement of Faith
Our Statement of Faith is The Apostle's Creed We believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and buried; He descended into hell. The third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy catholic (universal) church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.
