Mission Statement

We are a non-profit cultural organization based in Madrid, Spain. Our purpose is to create and produce aesthetically meaningful and relevant works of art to entertain, edify, educate and bring integration and harmony to our surrounding community. We also offer artistic education based on the understanding that the Judeo-Christian world view is still valid and relevant for our modern society. The shallowness, frivolity and immorality which has been so prevalent in the popular media as well as in the cultural and artistic movements of our time, has clearly contributed to the erosion of the moral and spiritual values in modern European society. Nonetheless, we are convinced of the value of the arts and entertainment industry as catalysts for spiritual transformation and cultural reformation.

Description

Based on the understanding that modern Europe is a post-Christian continent, with many prejudices against the Christian symbols and traditions, and not interested in what the church seems to represent as an institution any more. We, at the APAC, take into account that very often this fact stands on the way for the communication of the gospel message. We believe with the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization, that: Æ’‚‚‚‚“the development of strategies for world evangelization call for imaginative pioneering methodsÆ’‚‚‚‚”, and therefore we see a need for ways and means to build bridges of communication and create a common ground for dialogue and conversation with the unbeliever in Spain. For this reason we provide a platform where we deal with social, artistic and cultural issues that are relevant to a religiously apathetic society; a place where we can engage in conversation, in a natural-nonthreatening way with the unbeliever. This dialogue contributes to break the barriers of prejudice and misunderstanding, and facilitates the way for raising awareness for moral values and principles in this secular mind set. It also provides us with the opportunity to show genuine love, interest and concern for the individual as made in the image of God. All of this leads the conversation on to spiritual issues, absolutes and finally to the communication of the gospel message, as it has indeed happened in some cases already. We are committed to an artistic education that is not only focused on the acquisition of knowledge and the mastering of the skills needed to produce a great virtuoso. We are aware of the important role that a good education plays in the shaping of a human life and the making of a mature person, able to deal with the different challenges and aspects of the human experience. We see this holistic, artistic education as contributing to the development of a special aesthetic sensitivity, a sound, critical attitude and the moulding of an ethical approach to life that deals with the individual as a person and not as an impersonal robotic entity. This approach is based on a firm conviction that the Judeo-Christian values have a lot to contribute and are still relevant in this post-Christian society. Our regular program of dance, music and theatre classes as well as the workshops, seminars, camps and the production of shows follows the application of these criteria. As part of this Christian approach we also see the need to encourage social integration and facilitate the way for children and adults from underprivileged backgrounds to be able to benefit from our program of classes and all the other artistic events and activities.

Organizational Statement of Faith

We believe that as citizens of God's kingdom, we are called to love, worship, and obey our Lord, to love and serve His Body, the Church, and be a living testimony of the Lord ƒÆ’ ‚‚ ƒâ€š ‚´s presence in our fallen world with our personal lives. We also believe we are called to present the whole gospel for the whole person wherever they are. That the Bible is God's inspired and authoritative word, revealing that Jesus Christ is God's son; that people are created in God's image, with spiritual, physical, emotional, intellectual, practical and aesthetic needs; and that we can have eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. That although all people have sinned and come short of God's glory, God has made salvation possible through the death on the cross and the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore we believe that repentance, faith, love and obedience are fitting responses to God's initiative of grace towards us; and that God desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth as revealed in the Bible.
