Description

In the early 80's, a small group of caring individuals came together for the purpose of developing an action plan to assist women in unplanned pregnancies and help them make a choice for life. These individuals formed the 501C-3 not for profit Crisis Pregnancy Center of Sacramento. In the early 90Ã???s the Center chose its location on busy El Camino Ave., where over 20,000 cars and a busy city bus line drive by every single day. This location provided room for the center to expand and now occupies 3,000 square feet of space. In the fall of 2002 the name Crisis Pregnancy Center of Sacramento changed to Alternatives Pregnancy Resource Center. The mission throughout Alternatives history has never changed. Women and men find real hope, real truth, and real answers for the very difficult situations in which they find themselves. Every year hundreds of individuals make choices without regrets, because donors like you have made commitments to care for them and their unborn child. Our Goal: We desire to see many more women and men empowered through the compassion, truth, and strength of Christ to make positive pregnancy, lifestyle, and other related choices. Each year, more than 1.3 million women in North America still choose to end their pregnancies in abortion. We are dedicated to offering an alternative solution of hope and life to as many of these women as possible.

Organizational Statement of Faith

Alternatives Pregancy Center is a non-profit counseling and pregnancy resource center committed to providing women and men with accurate up-to-date information in order to make informed decisions about pregnancy, sexual health, parenting and relationships. Because everyone should have access to this information, all of our services are freee of charge. Our Affiliations Care Net was influenced by the evangelical leadership of former U.S. Surgeon General Dr. C. Everett Koop, and the late Christian apologist Dr. Francis Schaeffer. The Christian Action Council was established in 1975 by Dr. Harold O. J. Brown, and in 1993 changed its name to Care Net. Today, Care Net has grown to become the largest network of pregnancy centers in North America, of which Alternatives is one. Altogether there are 1,100 Care Net centers serving over 350,000 women each year. The primary purpose of Care Net is to assist and promote the evangelistic, pro-life work of crisis pregnancy centers.
