City Vision Internships is a Christian one-year, multi-year or summer internship program based on the AmeriCorps model. Interns serve at one of over 40 positions across the USA and Canada. In the past 10 years, we have placed over 500 full-time interns and 68,000+ volunteers in hundreds of Christian ministries. Job Description: The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for planning and implementing all efforts related to recruitment, cultivation, training, equipping, organizing and retention of volunteers to support the mission and vision of Trinity Cafe. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with staff to identify volunteer needs throughout the organization. Develop and recruit volunteer positions to meet needs. Orient, train, schedule, and place volunteers (including groups and individuals). Responsible for helping develop and implement proactive strategies for acquiring new volunteers and enhancing volunteer involvement and retention. Coordinate volunteer involvement with special events, projects, and activities such as the Taste of Trinity Café monthly events. Assist in planning and delivery of follow-up, recognition and appreciation activities for volunteers. Recruit and connect with faith-based organizations, school groups, businesses and other community organizations to volunteer and develop deeper relationships with Trinity Cafe. Provide excellent customer service, good organization and presentation of Trinity Café. Acts as a positive ambassador for Trinity Cafe in the larger community; create a warm and supportive environment for volunteers at the Cafe. Demonstrate a passion and commitment for Trinity Café?s mission and vision. Support the team in other tasks as assigned. Meet personal goals and actively contributes to the achievement of team and organizational goals.   QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: Bachelor?s degree preferred. Volunteer coordination, personnel or related background, highly desired. Skill Requirements: Heart for hunger and comfort working with poor and homeless individuals and families. Highly computer literate with strong background with word processing, PowerPoint, spreadsheet, database, and e-mail software. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to work both independently as an energetic self-starter and within a multi-disciplinary framework. Ability to articulate Trinity Café?s mission, program, and needs to the community to both individuals and large groups. Excellent organizational skills, high attention to detail, ability to plan events and maintain systems in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Demonstrates maturity and sensitivity to issues of faith, culture, and other sources of diversity. Physical Requirements: Hearing and speaking ability, which allows for effective oral communication. Physical, emotional and spiritual stamina to handle job-related issues and stress. Ability to walk and climb stairs and to lift 30 lbs. Physically able to work in environment considering the local climate and its normal fluctuations. Other: Must demonstrate legal authorization to work in the United States. Must pass applicable pre-employment background screening. Available to work a flexible schedule, including Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year as our program needs grow.   • Provides a work study internship with free tuition in City Vision College for a full year paid by hosting ministry.
  • Online courses providing accredited degrees in Nonprofit Management, Addiction Studies, and Urban Missions.
  • Any Pell grant or other federal financial aid paid as cash payment to student (up to $5,645).
  • Expectation is typically 29 hours of volunteer work with 16 hours of class work per week (45 hours total).
  • For Interns with a Bachelors Degree: One Year Paid Internship, Multi-Year Graduate Fellowship or Technology Ministry Master's Fellowship One Year Paid Internship
  • Volunteer Interns paid a living stipend from $200-$600/month (depending on site).
  • Expectation is typically 40 hours of volunteer work per week.
  • Multi-Year Graduate Fellowship
  • Free tuition in Bakke Graduate University programs including MBA, Masters in Global Leadership or Social Entrenpreneurship or Doctorate in Ministry or Transformational Leadership
  • Some sites may provide an additional stipend for outstanding candidates.
  • Candidates may receive up to 6 hours of independent study credit based on practicum work at ministry site.
  • Supervised nonprofit or ministry experience interning 29 hours per week.
  • Technology Ministry Master's Fellowship Must have STEM (science, technology engineering or math) background
  • Free tuition in City Vision College's Master's Program in Technology and Ministry
  • Supervised technology and ministry experience as an intern or tech missionary
  • Candidates may receive up to 6 hours of independent study credit based on practicum work at ministry site (in select states)

  • At least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Must be a Christian
  • U.S. or Canadian citizen, U.S. or Canadian national or lawful permanent resident alien, or have a valid student or work visa
  • Able to make at least a one year (or summer) commitment (may be extended by mutual agreement)
  • Able to financially live on just free housing (and stipend if you opt for the One Year Paid Internship) and any outside income sources you have.
  • Able to relocate to a location of a ministry site (unless a site exists at your current location)
