Description

City Vision Internships is a Christian one-year, multi-year or summer internship program based on the AmeriCorps model. Interns serve at one of over 40 positions across the USA and Canada. In the past 10 years, we have placed over 500 full-time interns and 68,000+ volunteers in hundreds of Christian ministries. Job Description: The Camp Nurse/EMT is responsible for responding to daily medical problems of camp participants, mostly consisting of young people in grades K-12. +This person must show current Emergency Medical Technician certification or be a licensed nurse. This person provides basic first aid, administers allergy shots, carefully dispenses medications, follows emergency medical procedures, and maintains accurate records of procedure. This person provides a hospitable, organized presence for sick and hurting young people, and communicates clearly to staff and parent. As medical problems arise, duties may include the following:
  • Model an intentional Christian faith
  • Provide basic first aid
  • Administer allergy shots
  • Staff the infirmary and care for those who need rest or attention
  • Secure and accurately dispense medications according to authorization forms and schedules
  • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • Call parents, clearly and kindly describe the situation, and determine a course of action
  • Document actions taken in a clear and accurate manner
  • Be on call during off hours to respond to emergencies
  • Contribute to community life by serving where needed
  • Attend weekly Community Meetings
  • Requirements
  • At least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Must be a Christian
  • U.S. or Canadian citizen, U.S. or Canadian national or lawful permanent resident alien, or have a valid student or work visa
  • Able to make at least a summer (May 31-August 12) commitment (may be extended by mutual agreement)
  • Able to financially live on just free housing and any outside income sources you have.
  • Able to relocate to a location of a ministry site (unless a site exists at your current location)
