Mission Statement


Sharing Christ through commuity and prison ministries

Description


Jubilee is a prison ministry seeking to bring holistic restoration to inmates and their families. We work inside the prison offering individual counseling, group Bible studies, worship services, and special classes (ie anger management). Upon release we offer an intensive Christian aftercare program. This 6 month - 1 year program provides housing, work & life skills, and an opportunity for serious Christian growth. In the fall of 2006, we are starting a transitional program for both men and women. These program will provide housing and social services networking within the community for folks who have been released. Participants need not be Christian but will be given opportunities to get involved in church and devotional times. This halfway house type program will work with an individual for 4-6 months. Jubilee also offers counseling to an inmate's family members. Dealing with the emotional and material aspects of incarceration is very draining. Our counselors assist families through this difficult time.

Organizational Statement of Faith


God, infinite and perfect, is the one and only true God who exists as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator and Sustainer of all things. Jesus, the only perfect man, is the Son of God incarnate, the divine Savior for all mankind and the Lord of all creation. The Holy Spirit dwells in redeemed humanity as sanctifier, comforter and guide. The Holy Bible is the written Word of God, inerrant in the original, authentic and authoritative for all mankind. All humanity is sinful by nature and separated from God. All are in need of redemption and receiving eternal life by the grace of God through repentance of sin and faith in the substitutionary atonement of Jesus Christ. As redeemed children of God, each has the privilege and responsibility to share the Gospel and demonstrate Christ's love. As Jesus states in Mark 12:30-31 (NAS), "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength...You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these."
